I took my ballot to the post office and in front of me was a witnoid I knew well. I took my ballot and tucked it into the back of my pants because I am a fader. Then I thought, screw that and I took it out and held it like a normal non-cult member. She left without noticing me but I was ready to say hello if need be. Ballot mailed, I know I cancel out only one Trump voter but that's one down. Feeling useful and not self righteous as when a witnoid.

Were Conventions, Asemblies and the Memorials boring to you?
by HereIgo inconventions always just seemed like more of a vacation to me than anything else, especially if you had to travel out of town for it, but definitely were exhausting especially toward the end of each day.
for some reason i didn't mind the special and circuit assemblies too much, probably because they seemed like more of a social event than anything else and only 1-2 days.
the memorial always was kind of boring to me.

If you become an elder who has good speaking ability and are used on many programs at all levels it destroys your joy because you see the pure BS behind all the two faced overseers who belittle their fellow witnoids. Very sad really. -

Successes you enjoyed since leaving the Org
by Tallon inthought i would start a discussion, and hopefully a positive one, on what successes you’ve enjoyed since leaving the org.. each of us is different as people, in life experiences etc.
however we all share one common factor in that we have all experienced the negativity, to a greater or lesser degree, of being a jw and the org.. each success is worth celebrating so i invite you to share some of your achievements.
it does not matter how ‘big or small’ it is, share it with us.. my achievement means a great deal to me both personally and professionally.

I earned a degree and wrote a book. I am on disability but not slaving my time to the Craptower. I am enjoying life and family. Nuff said. -

Which Org 'directives' did you blatantly ignore
by Tallon ini remember that we were always encouraged to let everyone at work know that you were one of jw's and therefore would not participate in any of their functions, parties etc.. this i outrightly refused to do.
my reasoning was that i was employed and paid to do a job and therefore my religious beliefs were a personal matter and therefore had nothing to do with my work.
secondly i had to work with these people.

In the 90's when they dropped requiring donations for printed material and STRONGLY suggested giving the householder an opportunity to donate to the "worldwide Bible educational work" I NEVER asked for a donation again. In fact I always gave the magazines away. Paying for them twice, once when I obtained the literature and then again when they did was BS. They even wanted THAT money. Screw them.

the new understanding
by heathen inhi guys , i know i was never a favorite here and haven't posted in awhile ... question .
what do you think of the new understanding of , " this generation " they seem to go in circles on this one big time , once 1914 generation was almost gone they said they didn't know what it meant and now in the new publication the generation includes the second generation after 1914 .... i agree they don't know what they are talking about and this is just another control move .
any comments ?.

Thank you for breaking your story into pieces. There are few things as annoying as a novel posted on a forum. Welcome, I look forward to part two.

ls homosexuality really normal?
by atomant inl know animals do it but their animals.they dont live by a moral code.the thought of 2 men going for it is not normal.what are your thoughts?.

The beauty of this life is you can change the channel Simon and no one forces you to watch them have sex in real life either. If anyone loses sleep over it then I would say that a fixation on "normal" is making them disturbed.

My Conclusion After Research
by Disassociated Lady 2 insince leaving the jws i have looked into many beliefs and have come to this conclusion.. paganism has a high regard for women, as they worship goddesses and respect the female for the ability to give birth to new life.
christianity puts females in second place to males and blames women for male temptations which goes back to eve eating the fruit and tempting adam with it.
they also created a devil with the appearance of the pagan god pan and built churches on pagan worship sites so that people would still go there to worship, but within a christian building.. i have come to the conclusion that paganism versus christianity is about a battle of the sexes.. the fear of demonic forces is taught by religions to deter you from straying.

I leaned algebra and it was liberating! I missed it somewhere along the line.
